Many cruise lines show their appreciation for members of the military through some form of booking discount, special rate, or onboard credit. If you’ve got clients who are actively serving in the military, retired from, or veterans of military service, knowing about these offers can help you serve them better.
With Veteran’s Day just around the corner, Travel Market Report has rounded up some short-term promotions, as well as the year-round offers each of the cruise lines provide.

Carnival Cruise Line
What: Carnival offers special rates to military personnel on almost every sailing.
Who: Reduced rates are available to active and retired members of the Canadian National Defense and the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, National Guard or Reserves.
How: Travel advisors can book these rates on behalf of their clients. Eligibility documents must be submitted to Carnival for confirmed reservations within 72 hours for cruises outside one week prior to sailing and 24 hours for cruises within one week prior to sailing. Documents can be emailed to [email protected]
What: Celebrity offers military discounts on sailings of four nights or longer, departing through May 5, 2023, and not including the Galapagos. Discounts are $25 off of inside and ocean view fares and $100 off veranda, Concierge Class, AquaClass, and Suite Class fares.
Who: Savings are available to active, retired, or veteran members of the United States or Canadian military.
A valid U.S. or Canadian military ID must be presented at the pier to validate eligibility.
How: Travel advisors can apply these discounts on behalf of their clients.
What: Cunard offers a year-round onboard credit program to all military personnel sailing onboard its ships. The amounts are as follows: $50 for six days or less, $100 for cruises of seven to 13 days, and $250 for cruises of 14 days or longer.
Who: The program is open to active military, retired military, and disabled military veterans with proper identification in the following service divisions: U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, National Guard or Reserves; Canadian National Defense; United Kingdom Military Personnel; Royal Australian Navy, Army, Air Force; and Royal New Zealand Navy, Army or Air Force.
How: To request this benefit on behalf of your client, please download and complete the application and submit it together with a copy of the required proof of eligibility no later than 14 days prior to the cruise departure date.

Disney Cruise Line
What: Disney offers special military rates on select sailings. Prices can be as low as $200 per person for the first two people in one stateroom.
Who: Military rates are available to all retired and active U.S. Military personnel or spouses, including U.S. Air Force, Army, Marines, Navy, Coast Guard, National Guard, Army Reserve and Department of Defense.
Valid identification must be provided at the time of check-in. Activated members (or spouses) of the U.S. National Guard or the U.S. Army Reserve must also show active duty orders. (Active duty papers must be dated as of January 1st of the previous year to qualify.)
How: Travel advisors can book these fares on behalf of their clients.
What: Emerald Cruises offers active and retired military a standing 5% savings on all river cruises.
Who: The promotion is available to all active and retired members of the U.S. military and their families.
How: Travel advisors can book these bonus savings on behalf of their clients.
Holland America Line
Veteran’s Day Promo: Holland America is offering an onboard credit of $100 per cabin to active and retired military on cruises departing San Diego between now and December 31, 2021. Travel advisors can redeem this offer on behalf of their clients by filling out this form.
What: MSC offers active and retired members of the U.S. and Canadian military a 5% discount on select interior and oceanview staterooms and a 10% discount on select balcony, suite, and MSC Yacht Club (deluxe suite) staterooms. The discount may be applied to multiple staterooms, but the qualifying person must be sailing in order for the discount to be applied.
Additionally, there are zero penalties for redeployment (must be verified by a commanding officer). A 100% future cruise credit will be issued, good for two years, if canceled no later than 15 days prior to the cruise departure.
Who: The program is open to active and retired members of the Canadian National Defense and U.S. Army, Air Force, Marine Corps, Navy, Coast Guard, National Guard, Army Reserve, and Department of Defense personnel. The discount is also available to spouses, parents, in-laws, and dependent children of active or retired military personnel.
How: Travel advisors may book these rates on behalf of their clients. The qualifying guest must present an I.D. badge from their respective organization at the time of booking.
