A Review of the Diamondback Tactical Escape and Evasion Bag

The choice for an Escape and Evasion bag varies by many types and manufacturers. This article will give you a detailed review of the Diamondback Tactical Escape and Evasion bag. I have listed the specifications of the bag as well as the methods used to test and review the performance and durability of the product.

Once again, Diamondback Tactical goes all out by producing another high quality product for serious operators. This bag retails at $85.95, as listed on the Diamondback Tactical website and comes in a wide variety of colors.

The specifications for the Diamondback Tactical Escape and Evasion bag I received are as follows:

* Item Number: BLPF21 – RG
* Dimensions: 10″ H x 11.5″ W x 5.25″ D
* Color: Ranger Green
* Large YKK Zippers with durable pull tabs
* Fastex ® buckles on all adjustable straps and compartments

w / Three, M16/M4, double rifle magazine pouches
* 12.5″ x 9.75″ sealed map pouch on interior of bag flap
* Tuck-away waist strap

This bag is great. Like the other Diamondback Tactical products I have used, this bag was built for performance and durability. It has high quality parts and materials in its construction such as YKK zippers, and Fastex buckles, this ultimately leads to a thoroughly designed piece of equipment.

One of my favorite features on this bag that separates it from others in the industry is the interior map pouch. The map pouch is an area on the interior of the bag flap that is covered by clear plastic for safe storage but accessibility to your vital data such as maps, orders, etc.

The adjustable interior is another extremely useful feature on the pack. It allowed me to customize the space and carry a full-size 1911-A1 pistol with six magazines and a full box of ammo as well as all my other E&E items.

The only area I could see for improvement would be a more comfortable and detachable shoulder strap. The strap currently on the bag is a simple piece of 2″ wide webbing that is permanently sewn into the bag. I would like to see Diamondback Tactical improve upon this design and adding the DryLex material on it as they do on their other products to enhance comfort as well as some Fastex Buckles for release and storage of the strap when not in use.

When I first received the Escape and Evasion bag, I could instantly see the difference in it compared to those I had used in the past. I retrieved all of my vital E&E gear and loaded it up. I found the bag was capable of carrying all necessary items and still left room for more.

This bag was immediately thrown into action and used in a 7-day High Risk Personal Security Detail course. It was tested throughout the week in several situations such as dismounted patrolling, vehicle operations, CQB and PSD E&E formations and scenarios. It had no shortcomings. The design of the bag leads to its high performance in functionality and durability.

Overall, the Diamondback Tactical Escape and Evasion bag is a great, high quality bag for those unpermissive and dangerous environments when the last thing you need to worry about is the safety and security of your gear. I highly recommend this bag for the serious operator.
